PE - Mrs. Jendrusch - K-2nd

This past month we have been fine tuning and learning about soccer.  I love this sport because the real competitive spirit comes out in all ages.  GGGGOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!

3rd Grade Music

This week we will explore:

         *Relating a Sixteenth Note to an Eighth Note

         *Solfege “ti” to “do”

Spanish - Ms. Fernandez - K - 2nd

Students in Kinder will continue learning about the four seasons: winter, spring, summer and fall (las estaciones: invierno, primavera, verano, otono).
 
Students in First Grade will continue using commands for “jump” (salta) and identify various animals – frog, fly, fish, snake, fish (ranita, mosca, pez, serpiente, tortuga).
 
Students in Second Grade will learn to order food in a restaurant (Que quiere comer?).  Students will use interrogative phrases, use of querer (to want).

Music - Ms. Caranto - K-2nd

This week in Music with Miss Caranto -
·      Kinder will be:
o   Learning about a composer and his music
o   Reading and applying musical terms to known songs and chants  
o   Learning a new folksong
·      1st Grade will be:
o   Learning about a composer and his music
o   Reviewing music theory concepts (note names, e.g. quarter note, quarter rest, eighth notes)
o   Reviewing the musical staff and applying knowledge of solfege onto the staff
·      2nd Grade will be:
o   Learning a new round/canon
o   Practicing all known solfege (including re)
o   Learning how to dictate a known melody onto the musical staff
