PE - K-6th Grade

This Week in PE
  • -  We will begin practice for Field Day!
  • -  Hula Hoop Relay
  • -  Rock Toss/ Javelin throw
Object of Game:  To see how fast the students can pass the hula-hoop.

There are three games at this station.   All students are to line up at their colored spots for a total of 6 lines.

1)   Caterpillar – The students will all stand in one hula hoop.   This hula hoop is placed behind the start line.  The second hula hoop is placed behind them.  On the start signal the students will pass the hula hoop that is behind them to in front of them.  They must move from hula hoop to hula hoop until they get to the finish line.  Where time will stop.

2)  Hula Hoop chain – The students will make a line and the first person in line must be standing behind the start line.  The last person in line is holding the hula hoop.  At the start signal the student will pass the pula hoop from person to person.  Once the hula hoop has been passed to the next person that person will move to the front of the line.  Once the hula hoop has crossed the finished line the time will stop.  It is not required for all persons to cross the finish line only the hula hoop. (KINDERGARTEN DOES NOT PLAY THIS GAME)

3)   Circle Hula Hoop Pass - The object of this game is for all students to stand in a circle holding hands.  Four hula hoops (four different colors) will be placed sporadically around the circle.  On the start signal the hula hoops will all be passed to the right.  Once all hula hoops gets back to their starting point time will stop.  If there is time remaining, for this game only, students will be allowed to repeat for a better time.

Cheer on the students, you may have to remind them to pass fast, step thru the hula hoop, hold hands, etc.
